My Top Pumpkin Picks…

I don’t know about you, but we have yet to carve our pumpkins this year. My husband likes to wait until the night before Halloween to carve them, so today I’ve been going through my file of pumpkin inspiration to prepare, and wanted to share some of my top pumpkin picks from around the web with you. I said “carve” above, but in recent years, I’ve preferred a decorated but not carved pumpkin. Painted, glittered, decoupaged- you name it, I probably love it! Are you a carving purist, or do you like something a little different for your pumpkin?halloween pumpkin inspiration

That diorama is bananas, right?! It’s so awesome. I’m also a big fan of the chalkboard pumpkins and may have to try that next year. This year I think I will be going to glitter route, but carving isn’t out of the question. We will see! Such serious pumpkin decisions to make , haha.

Lichen + Ash…

I always feel the most inspired in the fall + winter. In fact, my quality of life gets exponentially better as the temperatures cool, the sun makes way for gloomy skies, and I can wear boots and scarves on a daily basis. Unfortunately, it’s still close to 100 degrees in Southern California as I type this, but I am dreaming of the glorious overcast days to come. Those dreams led me to creating this board, inspired by lichen and ash. A perfectly chic color combo for fall weddings, and a great alternative to the more traditional shades of orange and red associated with the season.

Wedding Pups…

Ahhh, puppies. One of my favorite topics:) We really, really wanted to include our furry child in our wedding day, but weren’t able to. I just LOVE when people find a way to include their dogs, since for most people, dogs are family members (as they should be)! Did you, or will you, have your dog in your wedding?

As pup of honor, or best pup, perhaps?

As ring bearer?

Or just as a beloved family member.

I’d love to see photos of your dogs (or any pets for the matter) in your wedding!

Skull Chalkboards…

For my husband’s birthday, one of our friends got him the raddest gift- a skull chalkboard by iamhome! For a minute, I was jealous, until I realized it was still going to be in my house.

They would be so much fun as markers at a wedding, or party. Halloween party, anyone? If you are the kind of couple that wants something a bit different, why not mark your photo booth, dessert table, guest book, or anything else with these little beauties?

They come in a variety of vibrant colors. I’m especially fond of the sweet magenta.

They also sell these goat milk skull soaps that I am dying to get my hands on. The perfect gift for a groomsmen, bridesmaid, hostess, or anyone else who is into cool stuff. Cause they are really cool.

Parisian Romance {by} Valley & Co…

We’re Nick and Aleah Valley from Valley & Co. and we’re happy to be guest blogging again for the ever-so-lovely Melissa today and hope she’s having a wonderful time on her vacation!
As summer breezes by we’re wishing we could hit rewind and start it all over again! There’s something so magical and romantic about warm summer days and evenings. We tend to get nostalgic about summers gone by and wonderful trips we’ve taken as the days start to grow shorter again.  Some of our loveliest inspiration is found from images we’ve taken on summer trips both locally and abroad soaking up gardens, landscapes, architecture, food, and culture.
Today we’re sharing Parisian Romance with you; inspired by this incredible ages-old building bordering the Jardin des Tuileries. C’est très magnifique!
