Whimsical Park Wedding…

I’m loving all the whimsy and charm in Tiffany and Kevin’s wedding, sent over by the wonderful Ala Cortez of Love Ala! The contrast between all the bright pops of color and the natural wooded backdrop of the park venue is fantastic, and you just can’t mess with catering from a truck called “Nom Nom“. I mean, really! Does it get any better?

Burlap + Blue Barn Wedding…

After a brief hiatus fraught with technical difficulties, I am happy to be back and bringing you this beautiful wedding today, courtesy of the incredible Ashley Rose Photography!

You may recognize Krystle and Josh from their fun beach ball engagement session that I featured a few months back! Their wedding was equally awesome, and Krystle was kind enough to share a bit about the day with us:

All my emotions hit me when we arrived at the venue. I arrived in the limo with my mom, my mother in law, all my bridesmaids, and our flower girl. As soon as we drove up I saw the twinkling lights above the dance floor that I had always dreamed of. Tables were being set up and I could see all the hard-DIY-work had paid off. I couldn’t wait to see the completed project. We were all dressed and ready to go, with boots on, makeup done, hair curled, jewelry shinning, except for my dress. I waited to put my dress on at the venue. As my bridesmaids carefully carried my dress into the barn where I was to finish up getting ready, I caught my first glimpse of my handsome husband to be. He, his groomsmen and our ring bearer were all dressed up and ready to go, looking stunning! Their backs were to us as they were getting photographed, and tears filled my eyes. I could only imagine the smile on Josh’s face as he could hear all us girls Ooooing and Ahhhing over how good they looked. That emotion was topped off by putting my dress on and looking in the mirror knowing I was ready to have our First Look and to marry the man of my dreams.

Some advice from Krystle:

Find your dress, be in love with your dress and stop looking at other dresses. There are so many gorgeous dresses out there that it can get confusing. Have a day of coordinator. They can be pricey so if you can’t afford the whole design part, at least do day of coordination. The Jesi Haack team was so awesome, I did not have to worry about one thing throughout the entire day. They kept everything moving right along and Josh and I got to enjoy every moment of our special day. Most importantly, the best piece of advice I got was to enjoy the day by taking it all in. Embrace it. Look at everything. Josh and I walked around together and looked at all our tables, looked at the guest book table, smelled the flowers, and admired the hard work that was put in to this beautiful celebration of our love. Because we did so many DIY projects, it was very important for us to see them in action. Enjoy the quick yet special moments that you have with your guests. Look in to peoples eyes and tell them you appreciate them being there. People are genuinely excited for you as a couple, not to mention so incredibly generous and you will be glad that you got to say Thank You. Finally, throughout the whole planning process and the entire day remember what the celebration is all about. It is about the bride and groom and the love that you promise to each other for the rest of your lives.

Lucky in Love Farmhouse Wedding…

Hello, hello! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend:) You may remember today’s couple, Lynnie + Nick, from their adorable engagement session that was featured here last year. Well, today I am back with their ‘lucky in love’ Colorado farm wedding, photographed by Coast Highway Photography and . To read more about their ‘lucky in love theme’, check out their sweet website.

Here’s a bit more about the day from the bride, Lynnie:

Our “Lucky day” was filled with small handmade details, hilarious moments, and LOTS of love. My good friend Kevin (aka my boss) photographed the day beautifully and when we look back on the images we can’t help but think “Yep, that’s exactly how it all happened”. From the screen printed wishbone and Smore love bags , to the programs and invitations and our website, or the hundreds of handmade magazine flowers, and the mini Mr. Pibbs bulldog silhouettes, we had our hands on every detail of the day (and had to transport everything on our roadtrip from California to Colorado!)

Nick and I knew we wanted to spend some time alone after the ceremony and when everyone headed over to the barn for the reception we took a few minutes to walk through the woods and take in everything that had just happened. On your wedding day it’s like all of your senses are heightened and we still remember looking above us and seeing the trees over our head and the sunlight coming in through the branches. We couldn’t believe that we were finally married and got to experience such and incredible day with everyone we love!

Our first dance was pure magic, the beer and BBQ were delicious and Nick and I broke a wishbone perfectly in half (you can’t write this stuff). After shooting my bouquet with a slingshot we hopped into an old vintage car and headed off to our hotel for the night. Overall our “Lucky Day” was exactly how we imagined it. We got to share our story with the people we love and create memories that we will never forget…plus I got to marry a total hottie!

Backyard Thrifted Wedding…

Brad and Sabrina’s intimate backyard wedding, sent over by Joe + Kathrina Photography, was put together on a tight budget and a tight timeline…TWO WEEKS! Yes my friends, a wedding can be planned in two weeks and be as charming and filled with love as this one! Almost everything, including Sabrina’s dress, was thrifted or crafted. All the flowers were picked from Brad’s garden, and they even made use of some old patio furniture by covering it with quilted blankets to make a cute lounge area. What a beautiful celebration of this lovely couple!
