Classic Colorado Wedding…

When Imthiaz of Adam & Imthiaz Photography sent Miriel and Josh’s wedding over, I was instantly smitten with Miriel’s beautiful dress! The delicate cap sleeves and flowing silhouette won me over. The dress is set off perfectly by the fabulous birdcage veil that Miriel chose to wear. The perfect modern look with a vintage twist!!!

More from the bride, Miriel:

We had a bird theme for the wedding. I love birds, especially when they sing, but I think the main reason this theme came to me was because Josh has a tattoo on his left shoulder of an ocean view. In the tattoo there is a bird. He once told me that he planned to add another bird to the tattoo when he found the love of his life.

My bouquet was made up of ivory garden roses with touches of royal blue bella donna delphinium, fuchsia dendrobium orchids, lime green hypercium berries, and thistle. I’ve always loved the look of pussy willows and we had a few pussy willows worked into the bouquet.

My dress was ethereal and old world. It has little cap sleeves, intricate beading and lace, and beautiful accordion pleats that make up the train. To add to the old world feel we decided to opt for a bustle that attached to the wrist, rather than an up-bustle.

While we were taking pictures outside we walked past a street performer who began to play “Here Comes the Bride” on his flute. This was the only time I heard the song on our wedding day since we opted to have non-traditional songs in our ceremony. It was such a cool moment for both of us.

Miriel’s father married us and his words seemed to touch everyone’s hearts at the wedding, especially ours! Also our music selection for the ceremony rocked; all the songs were unconventional but so fitting.

Our cake was a round four-tiered buttercream cake. We had three flavors, chai with hazelnut crème filling, peaches and cream with a peach preserve filling and cherry almond chip with a Bavarian crème filling. Going along with our bird theme, it was adorned with fondant tree branches and small pink flowers.
