A Handmade Backyard Wedding…

Hunter and Kirsten had a charming backyard wedding with handmade details abound! An absolutely awesome DIY ceremony backdrop turned photo booth backdrop, sweet lace details and one of the cutest boutonnieres I’ve ever seen crafted from a button and some ribbon. All of these fantastic details were captured by the talented duo of Jason & Anna Photography.

Jason & Anna Photography are based in Arizona, but are available for travel. To see more, head on over to their blog!

A Joyful Hawaiian Wedding…

Oh, Hawaii- I love you so! This beautiful wedding was shot by Matthew Alvarado, with one of my fave photographers, Jana Morgan as the second shooter. It was held at Haiku Mill on the island of Maui, which has to be one of the most incredible and gorgeous venues I have seen in a long time. The lush flowers and greenery all over the grounds are absolutely breathtaking! The couple, Janeen & Steven, wove so many great details into their day. From the fun thumbprint tree guestbook, to the adorable feather leis the flower girl and ring bearer wore. I love it all!

Thanks so much Matthew & Jana for sharing your gorgeous images! If you want to see more from this wedding, go visit their blogs here & here.

 Congratulations to Janeen & Steven:)

Unique Eco-Friendly Alaska Wedding…

I instantly fell hard for this spectacular wedding shot by Jana Morgan. The couple, Genarita and Brent, held their intimate and eco-friendly wedding in Homer, Alaska. Homer is also where they recently built a home together…with their own bare hands! Yes, I said they built a home with their own bare hands. Their home is totally off the grid- no running water, no electricity, none of the stuff most of us rely on daily. Their wedding was also eco-friendly, with most of the elements being recyclable and reusable.

Genarita’s dress was handmade by her mother.

Sigh…look at that amazing view!

This is Genarita and Brent’s home. It was almost finished at the time of the wedding; just a few finishing touches remained.

Genarita made her bouquet by collecting flowers and weeds (who knew weeds could be so gorgeous?!) from the lot surrounding the couple’s new home.

The homemade jelly given as a favor to guests was also made by Genarita. It contained fireweed gathered from around her home.

Genarita’s sister made the table runners used throughout the wedding. She was unable to attend though, because she went into labor!

Genarita made all the dream catchers used for reception decor herself.

All of the logs that the food was displayed on were turned into firewood after the wedding.

Genarita’s mother also made the cake.

Their photographer, Jana Morgan, put together this awesome fusion piece with bits of video and still photos weaved together.

I am so in love with this unique wedding! Thank you so much for allowing me to share it, Jana!

Breathtaking Canadian Rockies Nuptials…

When I saw this intimate wedding with possibly the most jaw-dropping backdrop ever, my heart seriously skipped a few beats. A completely dapper and handsome couple who could easily be mistaken for models, Andrew and Sandi, made the long trip from Australia to the Canadian Rockies to tie the knot. Sadly, Australia doesn’t support same-sex marriage at this time, hence the long distance trip, but I can’t imagine a more unique or perfect location than the one they ended up in. A small island in the middle of a lake, surrounded by towering mountains, AND they were dropped there by a helicopter! AMAZINGGGGGG! Thank you so much So You’re Engayged for sharing this breathtaking wedding photographed by the fantastic Photobolic!

Maui Seaside Wedding by Amelia Lyon Photography…

Lots of Hawaii on the blog this week! This time we island hop over to Maui for an intimate affair captured by Amelia Lyon Photography, whose breathtaking images made me literally squeal with delight when I saw them!

The bride’s peacock feather hair piece is divine. She looks gorgeous!

This photo is to die for! The tall, windswept grass surrounding the couple that is so clearly in love, and the barren twigs and trees rising up behind them to create the flawless backdrop- It’s just perfection!

Another photo I can’t get enough of. Can you get any cuter than sharing a shave ice with two straws? I seriously don’t think so!

A completely stunning setting. Just look at that sunset! Need I say more?
