I am positively dying over Sareh Nouri’s Spring 2013 collection! All the dresses are completely stunning and ethereal, and I am a total sucker for an ethereal dress. Absolute dreamy bridal perfection!

There is a great new bridal boutique out there for Southern California brides, and I’m excited to tell you about it! Bride is an at home (residential) bridal boutique specializing in non-traditional, eco-conscious, vintage, and independent designer bridal attire. Bride strives to provide women with unique, quality, and affordable wedding pieces that express their individual style and personality. With a balance of rare bridal fashions and an intimate atmosphere, Brideprovides women with a truly original shopping experience.
Owned and run out of the home of experienced designer and tailor/seamstress, Maria Diaz, Bride carries pieces from independent designers such as Peppermint Pretty, Holly Stalder, Makool Loves you, and Ktjean.
Maria explains what inspired her to open Bride: “As a formal wear tailor and seamstress I started to realize that there were a lot of women who wanted vintage or independent designer wedding dresses, but they were limited to online sources such as etsy, which didn’t give them the opportunity to try the dresses on. At Bride, women would have a chance to try on these kinds of dresses, while the ‘at-home’ and ‘by appointment only’ setting boutique would keep with the personalized traditions of independent and DIY weddings.”
With an eclectic collection of vintage and salvaged materials, Maria can also work with guests to create the perfect custom piece or help you on your search for a specific piece if she doesn’t carry it. “It’s is all about creating a very personalized and intimate shopping experience for my guest” says Maria. “I want it to feel like your visiting a friend who just happens to have lots of wedding dresses and accessories.”
If you’re interested in visiting Bride, you can now make an appointment by contacting Maria at or calling 909-684-6451.
Bride is located just outside of downtown Los Angeles, at 728 Hartford Ave, 90017. The boutique is open by appointment only.
Oh, awards season, I love you so! We don’t watch any sports in our house, but for me, awards season is my eagerly anticipated sporting event and the Oscars is the superbowl, playoff, whatever you want to call it- the ULTIMATE! I usually blog about the red carpets at all the awards shows, but this year I’ve been off my game a little. That said, I had to bring you my faves from the Oscars red carpet.
My number one pick is Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton. That color, that little peplum, that delicate bow broach. Absolute perfection! It’s adorable without being too precious or young looking. At first glance I thought it was red, but it’s definitely a coral shade, and is just stunning!
Kristen Wiig looks beautiful in J. Mendel. Some of the red carpet commentators said she looked a bit too casual, but I love her look. Her hair looks natural and pretty and the dress is so ethereal and fits her perfectly. The color is not one I would ever choose for myself, but on her it looks awesome! Emma Stone was another of my top ladies on the carpet. I am a big fan of her in general and was excited to see what she chose to wear. The dress does look quite similar to one Nicole Kidman wore a few years back but honestly, I much prefer Emma’s Giambattista Valli gown. It’s a bit “floatier” for lack of a better word, and really suits her.
Next is Rooney Mara in Givenchy. The white looks gorgeous against her pale skin and I like that the dress is structured, but not TOO structured. I generally like flowy gowns better and this dress has the best of both worlds. She styled it perfectly with simple pulled back hair and bright red lips. Dita Von Teese was another fave I couldn’t help but include. She wasn’t on the Oscars red carpet, but at Elton John’s Oscar viewing party. Her gown was by Jenny Packham, who I always love. The jeweled neckline and cap sleeves are so beautiful against the blush pink fabric. This one is an absolute stunner!
Last but certainly not least is Kelly Osbourne. Her Badgley Mischka gown is lovely, and right up my alley. I do tend to go for black a lot, but the green sequin detailing make this dress really special. It has a bit of a mermaid scale look, but with some bit of edge. I love it and it’s so flattering on her figure. The final thing I just had to throw in is Jessica Chastain’s hair and makeup. Both were done so well, and I thought they were very bridal appropriate. Sweet, natural, and beautiful. I can see lots of brides sporting the same look.
What were your favorite looks of the night? Any of the same ones I picked?
Even though it’s still a couple months away, with this 85 degree weather, it feels like spring has already sprung! These adorable bridesmaids outfits spotted in Southern Weddingsare absolutely perfect with their flirty spring green striped skirts and off the shoulder white tops. They are just so fresh and playful- Love!
My favorite wedding dresses are always flowy, dreamy + romantic. Needless to say, when I saw Alina Pizzano’s spring 2012 collection, my heart got all fluttery! This collection was inspired by Miami Beach, but I think these dresses would be perfect anywhere, beach or no beach. They are just gorgeous! As an added bonus, these looks were photographed beautifully by my sweet friend Abi of Abi Q Photography. Take a look!
This is just a peek of the collection. To see more, head over to the Alina Pizzano website. It’s hard to choose, but I think my favorites are the first look and the short, one-shouldered number. Which dress is your favorite?
I’m loving this idea for grooms! I see feathers in boutonnieres often, my husband had some spotted guinea fowl feathers in his, but this a fun twist. In lieu of a traditional pocket square, why not tuck some feathers in that pocket?
I love a good multicolored bridal party, especially when it’s in tones of blush, creams and peaches. It’s a color combination that always looks so gorgeous and romantic! I found a few beautiful dresses at a GREAT price point (under $25!), that would be perfect for a blushing bridal party!
