Two of my favorite shades- the sophisticated greige, which is a combination of grey and beige, and the light and flirty sherbet. I think this is a lovely combination, and would make a gorgeous wedding palette.
Ahhh, puppies. One of my favorite topics:) We really, really wanted to include our furry child in our wedding day, but weren’t able to. I just LOVE when people find a way to include their dogs, since for most people, dogs are family members (as they should be)! Did you, or will you, have your dog in your wedding?
I’d love to see photos of your dogs (or any pets for the matter) in your wedding!
It’s with enormous pleasure and honor that today we are guest posting in such an inspirational blog like The Loveliest Day! We are Sofia e André aka Brancoprata, a small Portuguese wedding company! When Melissa ask us to do this post while she is away enjoying a well deserved holiday, we immediately start to brainstorm about what we could do. First we thought something Fall related would be perfect! It’s a beautiful time of year here in Portugal so why not be inspired by it? And let’s face it… Fall is just around the corner!!
We quickly decided to do something that we don’t see everyday but … well… it’s where it all begins: “the proposal”.
The story quickly emerge on our minds: A very romantic boy who loves nature, decides to propose to his girlfriend. He invites her to a lunch by the sea, a very special place to both of them…A good bottle of French wine, cheese and some sweets for desert, become a treat she will never forget!
After lunch and after enjoying the amazing view in front of them… she sees a little wooden box with an envelope and some old keys … “You have the keys to my heart”- he said… and the ride for a lifetime begins.
First some sweet notes and them he finally pops the question!
We hope this inspires some of the man who are thinking about asking their sweethearts hand in marriage.
Kraft and neon, what a divine combination! Playful, modern, and bold. I would LOVE to design a celebration with this palette!
This shoot, led by Carmen of FRESH Photography, has a bit of a wild edge to it, which I love! She created a storyline for the shoot that includes a non-traditional couple, a cabin in the woods, and slightly feral looking bridesmaids. While that combo could have come out totally Blair Witch, with the talent involved, the end result was absolutely beautiful!!!

{Features} A Fresh Spring Brunch + Styled…
I teamed up with the incredible talents of photographer Courtney Lindberg, and floral designer Susan of Peony & Plum. The result was a fresh + clean backyard Spring brunch, full of ideas for you to re-create!
Inspiration can really come from anywhere, and for this particular shoot, I was inspired while walking through my local nursery. The beautiful grey green tones of herbs like lavender and rosemary paired so perfectly with the fluffy white roses that sat next to them. It created such a fresh and airy palette, just perfect for Spring!
I used fallen eucalyptus branches from around my neighborhood and created the simple garland and wreath that adorned the table.
The table runner was made from a piece of cheese cloth cut to fit the length of the table, then tied off at the ends with some twine.
For the favors, I purchased mini cheddar cheese wheels from Trader Joe’s and tied each one up into a pretty little cheesecloth pouch, which I secured with twine and a sprig of fresh lavender.
Sweet little posy bouquets tied with white eyelet ribbon were attached to the back of each chair.
I love the idea of serving something simple yet delicious like artisan cheeses with an assortment of breads, crackers, and fresh fruit. Something anyone can do, and everyone will love!
I used zinc place cards to display the names of the different cheeses. These are great because they can be used over and over again. All you do is write on them with chalk, and erase when done!
To top if all off, I made some refreshing lavender lemonade spiked with a little citrus vodka. Yummy! I’ve shared the recipe below.
Though this shoot was designed with a brunch in mind, the same ideas could also be used for a sweetheart table, or a shower. Get creative and mix it up:)
5 cups of water, divided
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups lemon juice, approx. 8 lemons
1/2- 1 cup citrus vodka
Sprigs of lavender, with buds on
- Boil 2 cups water.
- Put 4-5 lavender sprigs in a pitcher, then pour boiling water in.
- Quickly mix in sugar and lemon juice while water is still very hot.
- Let steep for approx. 10 minutes.
- Strain out lavender sprigs.
- Pour remaining water into the pitcher, cold.
- Add vodka and stir.
- Chill in fridge until ready to serve, then add some fresh sprigs of lavender to garnish.
- Enjoy!!!
